New Balance 1500 Made in England

I'm not usually a massive fan of New Balances, they just don't do it for me. However some late night temptation coupled with a sneaky discount code, I put pen to paper and the 1500 Made in England sneakers made its way into my shopping cart. I didn't expect too much, in fact after I bought them I immediately wished I bought the blue and black pair, but nonetheless I was excited for my first pair of NBs.

Released this Spring, the NB 1500 was the first pair of the brand to break the century mark, but I have to say this pair definitely turn heads - I was actually asked by a rather attractive woman at a football match this weekend where I got them from, because she was fed up of googling where to find them instead of watching the game!

The burgundy mudguard and mesh toe box and midpanel appeal aesthetically, but take nothing away from the experience my feet were having. My god, these are the comfiest pair of trainers I have ever bought.

For anyone that knows me, I usually buy outrageously eccentric trainers (crepe city almost made me faint in all honesty) but NB have kept their latest release very simple and stylish and have been my best purchase of the year so far - I definitely won't be running to office or schuh to buy a pair of 996 that's for sure.

Nike Air Max Lunar90 "Moon"

45 years ago today, Man took its first step on the Moon and fittingly Nike release the Air Max Lunar90 "Moon", as a commemoration to the most famous historic event to have taken place in the last century.

Over the years, many people have come up with some conspiracy theories about whether man did in fact go to the moon, and have picked holes in the event since the day it happened. Well, it's almost impossible to pick holes and find fault in this pair of trainers - from the darker heel all the way to the unique blue-sliver laces.

When you purchase a pair of trainers that portray a graphic it can sometimes be difficult to match them with a whole outfit. Rest assured this is not one of those pairs. The colours very much fit the 'Monochrome' definition but from a different angle inject colour with the 'Stars and Stripes' back badges.

There is much hype in the sneaker community with regards to the Nike Air Max Lunar90 range - type it into your Twitter search bar and see for yourself. The "Moon" style will sell out quick so keep your finger on the pulse and bag yourself a pair early.

I'm hoping I catch a pair being showcased at Crepe City this Saturday, but I'm not getting my hopes up at all.

Crepe City next Saturday!

The time has come again for the next installment of Crepe City. The biggest Sneaker festival in the UK returns to The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London on Saturday 26th July 2014.

Every trainer fanatic absolutely buzzing for their next fix of Crepe City, where thousands and thousands of rare sneakers can be found under one roof. A buzz all around bringing a sense of community to brick lane - every man and woman searching for the hottest sneakers out there to take home and show the world. Wait for the questions of 'where did you get those?' and statements of 'they're cool, how much were they?!', but relish the envy you have created for your new pair of sneakers.

I for one am very scared for my bank account... in fact i'm terrified.

Adidas ZX 5000 Tie-Dye

Cast your mind back to 1989; Boris Becker won Wimbledon for the third time in four years, the first full episode of The Simpsons premiers on Fox TV and it was the year Adidas released the ZX5000.

Originally designed as a simple running trainer that focussed on comfort, the Adidas ZX5000 has evolved from a shoe of running luxury to focussing more on its aesthetics – behold the ‘Tie-Dye pack’ from the Adidas Originals Select Collection. Now while this shoe remains a comfortable bed for the whole foot, initially what strikes you is its variation of messy colour and its black overlays. Normally a very subdued and neutral colour, the black suede overlays give the ZX 5000 more prominence and character and complete the shoe.

Only 8 months old, this pair is still a great buy and still very fresh on the scene. Check out stockists Size? and order yourself a pair for the summer!

Gourmet Lite 35 Animal

So, it’s my first blog and what better way to start than with a brand that is self-proclaimed ‘Gourmet’. Now, I don’t what it is about this trainer that actually attracts me to them so much; is it the eye-catching print or is it in fact because Gourmet combines so many different ideas, emotions, cultures and opinion into just a single pair. ‘The LITE 35 Animal’ pair you can see me sporting within this post highlights exactly that.

A leopard print constructed from soft nubuck leather gives this trainer the feel as well as the look - for those of you that don’t know, Nubuck leather is basically leather that has been sanded or roughed up to create a texture similar to suede. Upon thinking I haven’t quite decided where this shoe is for… it certainly isn’t a festival trainer and be careful about getting caught up in the temperamental English weather.

The LITE 35 Animal trainers can be seen worn by reality TV stars Joey Essex and Mario Falcone, who are a big supporter of standing out from the crowds. . You can pick this pair up for $120 directly from the Gourmet website, but if you shop around there will always be a stockist with a reduced price.

Some will love this style, others won’t – tell me your opinions in the comment box below.
